Job Description

Summary /Objective

Technician Level A is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. The Technician Level A must perform high quality service work in the most time efficient way as to ensure high customer satisfaction. 

Essential Function

  1. Perform assigned work with excellence and high quality as efficiently as possible.
  2. Receive work orders and perform assigned tasks as required.
  3. Inventory and maintain required personal service tools in safe condition to perform jobs assigned.
  4. Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts to complete work.
  5. Inspect vehicle thoroughly to ascertain whether additional and/or safety items require attention; report any problems.
  6. Keep track of time spent on each job and use time clock to record times in various segments of the work order.
  7. Write clear and concise descriptions of repairs performed on various segments of work order.
  8. Keep track of all types of work done and parts used.
  9. Road Service Calls – travel to customers location in company service truck to perform repairs at the customers location
  10. Must participate in sponsoring and training apprenticeship program.
  11. Advise Service Foreman/Service Advisor of any delays or problems.
  12. Keep work area clean and tools and supplies secure.
  13. Maintain ASE Certifications.
  14. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  15. Conform to all safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shifts may vary. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Travel

Some travel may be required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma
  2. 7+ years of hands on Truck or Bus Experience, Heavy Duty.
  3. Class B License
  4. 609 Certification
  5. ASE School Bus Certification – MUST be Certified in 6 categories for ASE Master Tech.

  4. Roush Propane Certification
